More than 30 years in high-performance sport

Competing on the court. Then helping a team grow.

A player experiences high performance from the inside. A coach has to create the conditions for an entire team to reach it. Frédéric Havas has held both responsibilities — and then taken on the leadership of a professional sport organisation.

1992–2008

The demands of the biggest matches

138 caps for France. European Championships and World League campaigns. At club level, the Champions League with Soria and Paris, European competitions with Sète, and finals in France and Spain. A career that gives preparation, competition and pressure a very practical meaning.

2008

A title. A new chapter.

After becoming French champion with Paris Volley, he ends his professional playing career and starts coaching Marseille in the men’s Ligue B. The challenge changes: prepare, recruit, develop players and give the team a direction. A player’s experience becomes a resource for a coach’s work.

2015–2021

Development starts with the first steps

His career also includes years of volunteer coaching with young players at Saint-Cloud and Levallois, from under-9 to under-13 teams. Alongside professional sport come the first skills, the first matches and the enjoyment of learning together. Talent development starts here, too.

From Nationale 2 to Ligue A.

Two promotions. Three titles. One journey at Levallois.

When he arrives in 2018, Levallois’ women’s team plays in Nationale 2. Working with the players, staff and club, Frédéric Havas helps build its progression through recruitment, individual development, team preparation and sporting organisation. N2 champions in 2019, the team wins the Elite championship in 2022 and earns its first promotion to Ligue A, France’s top division.

« I’m happier than in 2008 »

After Levallois’ promotion, he compares that joy with winning the title as a Paris Volley player.
